Midwest Renovation Update #2

Well, another week gone and some progress has occurred, notably drywall prep, removal of the temporary wall on the first floor and trenching for electrical in the kitchen island. We are supposedly still on track to be pretty much done by mid-August, but I am not so sure. When I started really thinking about what still needs to be done, 4 weeks seems like a pretty tight time frame unless work is occurring every day, by multiple trades. So we will see but I’m certainly not holding my breath.

On the other hand, we are happy with the quality of the work so far, so I suppose that counts for something. And they don’t seem to get annoyed by our endless questions and “what if we did this instead” suggestions (which have possibly, maybe, somewhat contributed to how long its taking ๐Ÿค”). Hopefully by next week drywall will be up. In the meantime, here are some photos of the current state of things.

Framing for drywall has begun!
Left: plumbing and electrical for the laundry room is pretty much done. Right: Rough plumbing and electrical in the upstairs bathrooms is done.
